Chapter 36 – A Battle to the Death with ARRAYFORMULA

“LEFT LEFT LEFT LEFTLEFT!!!!”

Saito grabbed LEFT by the neck as he said its name over and over again. Its body went limp and a ball of fire appeared from it. Saito immediately placed his hand over it and chanted.

“ARRAYFORMULA.”

The fireball and human faced dog both sank into the cell and the cells in the surrounding area also started to glow faintly. It seemed that the processing was successful. The three that remained were FIND, LEN, and VLOOKUP. VLOOKUP had been scratching at my shield the whole time while my baton in my right hand was used to intimidate LEN, so my hands were full. If I had to deal with FIND as well, which was waiting behind me, I wouldn’t have the time, so I continued to slowly retreat.

“Next, I’ll deal with LEN. Hold down VLOOKUP.”

“Yes!!”

I was saved. I couldn’t keep it up much longer. VLOOKUP was trying to peel away my shield. Hitting its fingers with my baton, VLOOKUP narrowed its eyes in pain and withdrew its finger. It seemed like it had a sense of pain. LEN took advantage of this to try to attack, but Saito grabbed it by the arm and did a back throw. He said LEN’s name over and over again while holding onto its arm. ARRAYFORMULA emerged from LEN’s chest and Saito chased it down to process it.

There were only two left. Saito spoke up as he picked up his shield and bat.

“We’ll take down one each. I’ll do FIND. You do VLOOKUP.”

“I’m not very confident I can beat it though.”

“You just have to at least draw its attention!”

Saito got behind the FIND and drove his bat into the inner thigh of its right leg. FIND fell to its knees and Saito tried to follow up, but the swinging branches meant that he couldn’t get close easily. It looked like I couldn’t expect help soon.

I faced the VLOOKUP. Looking at it again, does it have any means of attack? It looks scary, but it doesn’t seem like it has any dangerous way to hit me. It just kept scratching at my shield and trying to get it out of its way. Thinking about it calmly, its five fingers are like its legs, so there was no way all five of them could leave the ground. I suddenly felt like I could do it.

At the very least, I thought I’d give it a shot anyway. VLOOKUP spread its palm flat on the ground and then got back up several times in a rhythm before suddenly punching me with its huge hand.

“Hey, stop that!”

Surprised, I tried my best to avoid the punch while saying pointless things in a voice that sounded like a scream.

Were my reactions fast? Or was the punch slow? I think it was probably the latter, but I managed to avoid it by moving to the side and placing my shield between me and the VLOOKUP. However, it was far from elegant and I ended up falling on my backside.

The VLOOKUP was relentless. Deftly turning its body with its thumb, it faced me while holding a stiff posture. From there, it placed its index finger, ring finger and little finger on the ground. Curling its middle finger inward, it pressed it firmly with its thumb. Oh no, it was going to flick me.

Gon~.

My shield was blown away with a dull sound.

“Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, give me a break.”

The VLOOKUP chased me as I retreated before covering me and grabbing my body.

“Oh no! Stop it!!”

I thought it was going to crush me, but it just held me in place with enough force that I couldn’t move. the eye on the back of its hand looked at me with a grin.

“Damn it, don’t joke around with me!!!”

I immediately stabbed it in the eye with the baton that was still in my hand.

All of a sudden.

The VLOOKUP opened its hand and fell on its back. It seemed to be having small convulsions. It was now or never.

“Huu, huu…phew, VLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, VLOOKUP, VLOOKUP.”

Pressing my baton against its wrist, I processed it. ARRAYFORMULA in the shape of a fireball suddenly popped up from the VLOOKUP.

“ARRAYFORMULA.”

Processing it, the ARRAYFORMULA and VLOOKUP were sucked into the cell and disappeared with a faint yellow glow.

“I did it…”

It was quite dangerous. Honestly, I could have died. But somehow, I was able to take it down all on my own. I felt like I had grown a lot as a worker.
