36. A Disappointment for Weapon Enthusiasts

“This is a very old looking gun.”

A revolver was displayed inside a glass case.

It was a six-shooter revolver with a spinning magazine and a hammer.

It was like a weapon from fairy tales.

I guess you could say that it was as expected of a museum. It was probably the most antique item on display so far.

“That’s not actually the case, this gun was made fairly recently. About 70 years ago.”

“Huh.”

Even the most primitive of weapons aren’t useless.

No matter how old or simple it is, if it can kill a person, it is still a threat.

Even if it was a stone, it could still kill someone, let alone a gun that used a gunpowder and a firing pin.

“This revolver was made by a weapons manufacturer with a plan to recreate the famous weapons of past ages. As you can see, this is a six-shooter revolver and was a collectors item for weapon enthusiasts……”

“But?”

“Revolvers have long disappeared from the front stage of history, although they remain incredibly popular with some weapon enthusiasts. Although it looks like a revolver, the fundamental structure is different from what it originally was.”

Snapping her fingers, a hologram of the gun’s internal structure was project onto the glass case.

“Unlike traditional revolvers, this gun accelerates the loaded bullet to subsonic speeds when firing. In principle, it’s closer to a railgun. One of its major features is that it doesn’t require gunpowder because it doesn’t need to strike a detonator with a firing pin. As long as the magazine was loaded, it could shoot even rocks or lipstick. If the projectile wasn’t durable enough, it would just shatter before impact.”

“You mean it’s completely different on the inside?”

“A reproduction of the old ammunition was also sold as a set, but when fired with this gun, the bullet would fly out along with the cartridge. It was very unpopular among weapon enthusiasts. Very unpopular.”

“No way.”

“There was even a signature campaign to stop the sale of the gun, claiming that it was just a crude imitation of the original. I hear that it is still talked about as a disappointment of a weapon among weapon enthusiasts.”

“I don’t think it’s that bad as long as the bullets still fly forward……”

“Actually, a small number was actually put into military use, but their reputation on the battlefield wasn’t that good.”
