“Saito-san. Um, it just spoke…”
“Yeah, have you never seen one before? It happens sometimes.”
“Does that mean they can understand what we are saying?”
“No, they’re just saying pre-programmed line, there’s no particular meaning to them.”
What on earth was going on?
“First, let’s peel off the UNIQUE.”
The Terminator quickly approached us as I clutched my shield and baton. I swung my baton to threaten it, but it just grabbed the tip of my baton without hesitation.
As expected, the baton was easily snatched away from me by an extremely strong force and thrown away.
“UOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!”
With a roar, Saito slammed his metal bat into the Terminator’s back.
Gong.
There was a dull sound, and it didn’t seem to do much, confusing me. The Terminator ignored me as it turned to Saito and punched him. Saito raised his shield to block it, but his shield was blown away as he was sent rolling.
The Terminator used its bare hands to tear apart my shield before grabbing me by the base of my neck and lifting me up with ease.
“Chill out, dickwad.”
The Terminator spoke lines from the movie without any context. Stop it. All the tension is gone. I grabbed onto its wrist and shook my legs to resist, but it didn’t respond in the slightest.
“UNIQUE.”
The grip of the hand holding me up loosened and I fell down with a thud. Saito had come over from behind and had appeared to have processed the UNIQUE. The Terminator’s eyes widened as it distanced itself from me and Saito.
“Geho-geho-… Thank you.”
“Listen up, as long as we deal with it, no matter how, we win.”
Lightning swirled around the function and the human skin peeled off it in a fiery blaze, exposing its metal body. UNIQUE seemed to have been processed, but the exposed FILTER now appeared. I picked up my shield and prepared myself.
