2. SUPER OMEGA MAX

“This one is huge.”

A robot over 25m tall was sitting in the atrium.

Many large robots were introduced during the Galactic War, but most of them were in the 10m range.

“This is SUPER OMEGA MAX.”

“What?”

“SUPER OMEGA MAX.”

The exhibit panel also said SUPER OMEGA MAX.

Apparently it wasn’t a joke.

“The SUPER OMEGA MAX was secretly built by a small colony nation during the middle of the Galactic War.”

“I’ve never heard of it before.”

“The SUPER OMEGA MAX is quite literally a one-off machine. There is no supply of spare parts for maintenance.”

“Why not?”

“It was said that there was a shortage of materials. This robot is made up entirely of ultra rare metals.”

“Is it a prototype?”

“No. It was developed with the assumption that it would be used in actual battles. It actually served an active role as a main weapon.”

“What is it armed with?”

“A rocket punch.”

“What?”

“A rocket punch.”

On the exhibit panel ‘Rocket Punch!’ was written in a flashy font.

It wasn’t a joke.

“It is a piece of lost technology that has never been reproduced.”

“What if it breaks?”

“It won’t break.”

“It won’t break?”

“The robot was once captured by a hostile nation, but despite exhausting all methods, they couldn’t damage its armour.”

“It was incredibly strong, wasn’t it?”

“It was recorded that it was invincible.”

“So, what happened?”

“The nation that operated it disappeared and it was abandoned.”

“Why?”

“Because they lost the war.”

“Even with such a monster?”

“This robot had huge operation and production costs and the nation that created it was in dire straits to the point it couldn’t operate any other military force. Each battle consumed 70% of the nation’s power supply. Because of that, public sentiment on it was terrible.”

“I see.”

“Ah, but it was very popular with some men and children.”

That could be true.

“The robot itself remained undefeated, but there were too many operational problems and the colony nation eventually collapsed. Some documents showed that 40% of the national budget was spent on this robot.”

It was full of dreams and romance.

Unexpectedly, I don’t hate it.

Probably.
