4. Eco Missile

“Is this……a missile? It looks like it’s made of wood.”

“Yes. The Eco Missile was a eco-friendly weapon designed with environmental concerns in mind. Another name for it is a wooden rocket.”

Jupiter rocket?”

“No, wooden rocket.”

“What do you mean by eco-friendly weapon?”

“Isn’t it good manners to be friendly to those you are close with?”

“I don’t think that is the right usage of the term.”

“This weapon is made out of wood, its simple, Japanese inspired design gained popularity among some circles. Surprisingly, it can be fired and there are records that it was put to use in actual battle.”

“I can’t imagine these things flying through the battlefield……”

“The disadvantage of this missile was its high production cost due to its special manufacturing method. It costed nearly seven times as much as a conventional missile. It also wasn’t very reliable and was highly susceptible to moisture and impact, so it couldn’t be launched near water or carried by vehicles across uneven terrain. There was a record of a missile detonating inside its tube, causing enormous damage to friendly forces.”

“Why was it even created?”

“Invention is based on failure.”

“I think this was a failure from the point it was thought of.”

“As a side note, there is a dark rumour that a forest planet was turned into a desert planet due to the illegal logging of forests inside a galactic reserve in order to obtain a special wood as raw materials.”

“Maybe it shouldn’t have been created after all?”

“There aren’t many weapons that were eager to be created.”

This wooden rocket with a subdued Japanese design seemed to have been quite bad.
