Here’s Chapter 185,

Man, I’ll get the chapter I’m still missing out eventually.
Been a bit of a tiring week leading up to Christmas.
Had to do some soldering for an electronics project, driving practice for my license (which I’ve put off for waay too long), Christmas shopping, house cleaning, etc.
There was also farming up on the FGO Christmas event and prepping for fighting Behemoth in MHW, which I need to hunt 4 elders for.

Here’s Chapter 184,

This chapter is out on time.
I’ve usually been punctual with releases but the past few weeks have been *ahem*.

I’m still trying to get more chapters out but currently being hampered by various things I’m helping out with the family, since it is summer break and all.
That and playing Monster Hunter World with friends.

Either way, I’ll try to translate a few more chapters, for Christmas at least.

Also something that might be of interest to a few of you, this guy posted a comment pointing out that Gamelion is actually a month in a Greek calendar. To be exact, it was the first month of winter in the Attic Calendar, which was widely used by the Athenians in ancient Greece.

Here’s Chapter 183,

Much later than I expected, apologies for that.
I usually translate my chapters on Saturday for a Sunday release, but as some of you might have seen on a previous chapter post, I’ve been working on building my own desktop PC case.
I ended up spending 12 hours cutting, drilling, filling, sanding and gluing it together on Saturday which exhausted me a fair bit and I didn’t end up translating the chapter.
This was also quite a chunky chapter so took me longer than expected.

Anyhow, I should be done with work for the year, so I get to start my Christmas break early.

Here’s Chapter 182,

Just one chapter this week, still trying to find the time to tl that extra chapter I missed.
Chapter length has also suddenly increased by about 20% since the end of the Gamelion arc *grumbles*.
I would have done it this week but I managed to get myself full time work for this week and the next, so it has been very busy.

Still haven’t finished building my PC case either, it’s getting there though and I should be done by next week, which is good since the woodwork workshop where I’ve been working on it closes for Christmas break the week after.

My tablet that I bought last year also stopped working two days ago, dead battery probably.
I should probably just get a new phone to replace my old phone and tablet instead of getting another cheap tablet lol.

I’ve made up for one of the chapters I missed out during my exams but I’m still one behind so I’ll try to get that out soon.
This chapter marks the start of the Magic Fever arc.

Next up is the Magic Fever arc, where Rei takes a trip to the frontier city of Baar.

Here’s Chapter 179,

Sorry for the long wait, the good news is that I’m done with my exams and university work is finished for the year.
There’s been a couple of things which have made me push back this chapter release by a few days, so I’ll quickly go through them.

This is a double chapter release, so a second chapter will come out 30 minutes from this one.
I thought that I might as well wrap up the arc at once, which is why this chapter wasn’t released earlier.

A bunch of terms have changed, so I’ve been going through and changing all old chapters for consistency.
-All instances where Hasta’s family eatery is referred to as a restaurant has been changed to eatery.
-Excel from Scorching Wind has been renamed to Ecryll. Ecryll is actually the better translation of her name and I’m not sure why I didn’t pick it up when I first translated her name. I’ve decided to update it now before she reappears in future, which she will.
-All instances of Orc village have been changed to Orc settlement. I initially thought that the arc name ‘Orc Village Raid’ meant that the Orcs were doing the raiding. Of course that wasn’t the case, so Orc settlement is probably a more appropriate name than Orc village.
-All instances where Gilm is called a town have been updated to city. Just for consistency.
-All instances of recovery effects or magic have been changed to healing. Recovery magic is actually healing magic, so that has been changed for consistency.
-All LN images have now been placed into the appropriate chapters and the gallery has been updated with matching chapter numbers. Images are also larger in chapter and are of higher image quality. Any new images will now be added into the chapters as I go. For people reading on MBC, the gallery is only on my own site at silenttl.

Here’s Chapter 178,

It’s a few minutes later because I woke up late this morning and didn’t manage to finish translating the chapter in time ahaha.

Minor change, which I will go back to correct, Hasta’s parents actually run an eatery rather than a restaurant.
They are both similar but an eatery is a more informal dining place.

Most of my uni assignments are done so I just have one more review paper to write and my exam and it will be summer break for me.

Here’s Chapter 177,

Still working my way through uni assignments at the moment.
I will eventually build my new desktop that I bought the parts for 3 weeks ago.

Random rambling, IG won the 2018 League Worlds Championship but I do kinda wish it wasn’t a 3-0.
The better team on the day won though so props to them.

For those worried that this would turn into a foodie story, don’t worry, Rei doesn’t actually know how to cook much.
If you haven’t noticed, he’s only ever roasted meat, everything else has been bought in the city before he heads out anywhere.

Lastly, the Gamelion arc ends at chapter 180.
The next arc starting at 181 is the Magic Fever arc, for those interested.

I have internet back so here’s Chapter 176

Still just one chapter this week because I’m still working though several assignments.
Ha, I thought it would be over with thesis, but who am I kidding.

Several things I actually want to go over in this chapter post as I’ve made a few website changes.
Firstly, I have come to the conclusion that maybe the Legend tab leading to the TOC wasn’t as intuitive as I thought it was.
Because of that, hovering over the Legend tab now shows both a TOC and Gallery link.

Secondly, Frozen has been kind enough to pass me the illustrations to all 12 currently published Legend LN volumes.
As a result, the Gallery page has now been updated with links to individual LN volume illustrations.
To avoid spoilers, the story arcs that each LN covers is listed under each LN illustrations link.
I am still in the process of adding illustrations to the matching chapter, so that may still take a week or two.
Also note that some illustrations refer to LN only events.
There isn’t a significant difference for the most part between the LN and WN, just a few minor changes such as Lenora guiding Rei to the library instead of Rei heading there himself and an extra scene where Milein meets Rei and Set en route to the Orc Village, which likely did happen according to WN events but was never mentioned.

On the note of the LN’s, the Gamelion arc and the arc that follows it is covered by volume 5 of the LN.
For anyone wondering, the Dark Elf in the volume 5 illustrations is the guildmaster for Gilm’s Adventurers Guild branch.

Lastly, although it won’t affect most of you readers, I plan to run through all previous chapters to edit them for consistency over the next few months.
