Legend Chapter 260

Here’s Chapter 260,

If anyone had been wondering what Daska looked like, you get to find out in this chapter.

Virus is pretty much clear in the area I’m so it’s back to the office for me during the week.
I’m going to miss that extra hour of sleep I got each morning working from home.

Legend Chapter 259

Here’s Chapter 259,

An army marches on its stomach and a stomach marches on good food.
For anyone wondering where this chapter lines up with the light novels, the begining of this arc marks the end of volume 8.

Just a few site updates I would like to note.

Firstly, it looks like when I switched hosting, it also dropped all subscribes/follows.
If you haven’t been receiving updates, you might need to follow again.
The follow button should now show up on the left side of the page in desktop and tablet or at the bottom on mobile.

Secondly, I now have ads running on the site, in case no one has noticed.
Since I’m now running a proper site, I’ve set that up for running costs and a bit of pocket change.
Let me know if anyone has any issues with the ads, since unlike on MBC, I now have direct control over ads on this site.

Lastly, I’ve updated a few pages on the site that were still redirecting to MBC, not sure how I missed those, but those should all be fixed now.

If anyone has read this far, thanks for reading. I’ll be working overtime on my job when this posts, but if anything goes wrong I’ll get to it as soon as I can.

Legend Chapter 258

Here’s Chapter 258,

And so the war arc begins. Daska looks like he has a fair bit of pull around the nobles, wonder how he got that. And for those who don’t care about him, they’re fair game for a beating.

I mentioned this earlier in one of my oneshot posts, but if you’re still not getting RSS updates, you might have to unsubscribe and resubscribe to the feed. I’ve taken a look on my end, but it doesn’t look like I can change anything that might stop it from showing up for whatever reason. Sorry about that.

The Story of Two Brothers, a Hero and a Carpenter

Here’s the first actual short story one-shot that I’ve ever translated, Link.

I was browsing Syosetu for stories when I came across this one.
I enjoyed it quite a bit, despite getting emotional near the end, while reading and translating.

When I read, I tend to bury myself into the story and will easily get affected by emotions characters show, which is probably why I don’t stories with horror or psychological that much.

That said, I’m a sucker for stories like this, even though it will leave me pretty drained for the rest of the day or until I read something a bit more lighthearted.

How to Make a Delicious Tomato and Egg Stir Fry

Hey Everyone,

Another one-shot for your perusal.
Similar to the last one, this is more of an author’s personal story rather than a novel.
It sounded like an interesting read so I translated it.
Turns out it really isn’t that interesting, but I’ve done it so I might as well post it.

Link to the translation here.

On a related note, there will be a second one-shot posted today, this time an actual short story.

On an unrelated note, for anyone using the RSS feeds, I’ve taken a look on the back-end but RSS feed should be active as far as I can tell. If the RSS feeds stopped working roughly two weeks ago, then it looks like changing hosts might have affected it. The only thing I can think of would be unsubscribing from the feed and re-subscribing to it. I will continue to look into it from my end, but there’s not too many settings I can change that would seem to fix the issues that people are having.

Legend Chapter 257

Here’s Chapter 257,

This chapter officially marks the end of the Axe of the Thunder God arc.

With the next chapter, the War with the Bestir Empire arc begins.

A few changes to the ToC page. I’ve finally set up accordians for the headers, which I’ve wanted to do for so long but couldn’t without plugins.

This is being posted roughly 12:30am, right after I finished running ~3 hours of dungeons in WoW with friends so I hope i didn’t mess anything up with this post. If I did, it will get fixed when I wake up, whenever that is ahaha.

Legend Chapter 256

Here’s Chapter 256,

Some of you have already guessed what Rei was going to ask Elk to do, after all the war arc starts in two chapters.

I’ve successfully transfered the site to a new host, so thanks for bearing with the time that the site was down.

In isolation news for the week, I’ve hit lvl 120 in World of Warcraft and am now enjoying the gameplay that is reputation grind and N’zoth.

It also turns out I’ve missed an illustration from several chapters back. It was when Rei rescued Min and Rhodes in chapter 251. It’s now been inserted back, but in case anyone wanted to see it without going back, here it is.

Site Back Up and Running

Well, so much for that long previous post lol.

Transition was extremely smooth and quick, so quick that the site now looks exactly the same as before.

The only unfortunate things is that it seems I’ve lost a few comments here and there so I’ll see what I can do.

Thanks for sticking around, next chapter on Sunday as usual.

Site Update (Hopefully the last in a while)

Hey Everyone,

Thought I’d post a longer update for this since there’s a bit of stuff involved.

So most of you know that I got myself a proper site about 2 months back and moved out of my free wordpress site. Unfortunately, being very tired at the time and not really thinking about it, I basically just upgraded my site on wordpress.com.

Some of you have probably realised what my mistake was, but basically wordpress.com still limits a lot of what I can do. What I should have done is buy a domain on wordpress.org and then get the domain hosted somewhere else.

60 days have passed since I first got the silenttranslations.com domain and it can now be unlocked for transfer, so I plan to migrate hosting to Bluehost over the next few days. Ideally there shouldn’t be any issues, but this move may result in my site going down for about a week or so. Unlike the last move, you probably shouldn’t need to do things like resubscribe, I’m just moving files around and gaining the ability to use plugins, which was the whole point of upgrading to a paid site.

This post is a heads up that I will start the site transfer tomorrow which might take my site down for a week, hopefully shorter. I plan this to be the last major move I have to do for the site in…ever?

Thanks in advance for your patience.

From an engineer who should have read the manual before signing up for a website.
