“What……are these?”
Inside a glass case was something like a belt.
Many colourful gems were lined up around the belt.
The belt wasn’t a standard belt, but something like a martial arts championship belt.
The buckle was unusually large and there seemed to be many holes for something to be inserted.
It looked like an insect burrow, giving it an uncomfortable feeling.
“This is a reinforced exoskeleton……a power suit deployment device. The surrounding gems are energy crystals. The activation method is to fit all the energy crystals into the holes on the belt buckle. It starts up by pressing a switch. There is a hole corresponding to each gem and each gem must be slotted into the right hole. There are 100 holes and 100 gems, if even one gem is missing, it won’t start.”
“How many hours would it take to start it up……”
It was like a small puzzle game.
“Also, there are many other gems that have been identified, including budget versions, limited editions and prototype runs. The museum did what it could, but we were only able to collect 100 regular version gems.”
“Did you have to look for these one by one?”
“Yes, because they were scattered all over the galaxy.”
This was insane.
“Furthermore, there are some variations in the starting devices. Later production version have slightly different shaped belts. There are also three colour variations, two low cost version, four miniaturised models and a complete edition. The complete edition had a limited production run and has a stronger collectors element to it than practicality. Manufacturers would also handle imperfections on initial sale……”
It wasn’t until an hour later that I moved to the next exhibit.
