“Are these contact lenses?”
“Yes, it is a weapon called ER01.’
“It’s numbered?”
“Yes. There several in the ER series from the same inventor.”
“What kind of weapon is it? It’s not just contact lenses, right?”
“ER01 is what we call a fluoroscopic device. It’s not the same as a thermograph as it can completely see colours, textures and give a sense of distance. The inventor was an ordinary man of science and not a professional researcher or anything. He devoted most of his life to the creation of the ER series with an incredible, almost religious zeal. All without any proper research facilities.”
What was it that drove him to that point?
“Originally, it was created to see through clothes, but his uncompromising spirit of research made it so precise he could even see through metal. He was the epitome of an engineer.”
That was crazy.
“While he was using it in a city, was accosted for suspicious behaviour. It was confiscated and analysed before being converted to military use due to its high performance.”
This invention turned out to have such an unexpected story.
“Ah, by the way, it seems that it could even see through lead, but not socks. In the days where it was used, it was quite popular for combat robots to stick socks all over the inside of the armour to hide their weaknesses.”
