32. Dead Bodies Are Buried Under Cherry Blossoms

“It has a conspicuous colour.”

A pink coloured robot was standing upright for some reason.

On its back, there was a large sword.

“This is the first in the Death Flower series of robots, called Cherry Blossom. This series was very popular among weapon enthusiasts.”

“What kind of robot was it?”

“There are many good things about it, such its good operability and high level of mobility. However, I think its most important characteristic was its single minded choice of armament. This robot had no other weapon aside from the single high-frequency blade on its back.”

“Doesn’t it at least have a rifle?”

“No. The manipulator isn’t connected to the reactor, so even if it did have a rifle, it wouldn’t be able to fire it.”

“Why would they do this……”

“It seemed that it had a terrible reputation in the field. It was called a walking coffin.”

“I would believe that.”

“Oh, but it’s not all bad. The frame was simplified to its utmost and made robust enough so that it wouldn’t break even if hit by another robot.”

“But robots don’t directly strike each other.”

“No, no. In the long history of the galaxy, that has happened many times.”

“……So they directly fought other robots?”

“No. Most of these robots were blown up by concentrated fire in the middle of the battlefield.”
