“What is this?”
There was a glass case the size of a single person placed in the corner of the museum.
The glass was mosaicked and the exhibit inside was blurred.
It seemed like something the size of a person was inside it, but I wasn’t completely sure.
“So you found it……”
“Is it a problem to look at it?”
“No, it’s unavoidable due to the nature of the museum, which has weapons for display. ……But, there are some things that are too unpleasant to look at.”
“Is that so?”
“Yes.”
“By the way, what’s with this mosaic?”
“You’ll have to pay extra if you want to sneak a peak.”
“……Well, never mind. Tell me what’s inside.”
“Frazer is a magical weapon created by a remote nation near the end of its existence.”
“A magical weapon?”
“It wasn’t based on scientific theory. This weapon was the end result of a so called sympathetic magic……it’s like the final form of a straw doll.”
“That doesn’t sound good.”
“What would you think if a doll with a photo of your face on it was nailed?”
“Creepy.”
“Even if you don’t believe in curses or ghosts, you’ll still an aversion something like that, because the person who hammered the nail in actually hates you.”
“I see.”
“Frazer was created from a single hair. The remote nation on the verge of defeat created this weapon with DNA taken from a hair it obtained from the leader of an enemy nation.”
“What was it?”
“It was an elaborate clone. Even memories and the way it thought were copied, so much so that it was said to be indistinguishable from the original.”
Cloning technology itself was widespread through the galaxy, so it wasn’t that unusual. However, it must have a lot of effort to copy memories.
“The peculiarity of this weapon lies in its usage. On the verge of collapse, the remote nation began to show footage of this Frazer being tortured to the entire universe. It was two months from the end of the war. From excretion all the way to debilitating torture throughout the day, the museum also hold that footage, although it is not available to the general public.”
“……What happened in the end?”
“It had its heart pierced by a stake and died. This Frazer is the body that was recovered and preserved.”
It was something I didn’t want to pay to see. It seemed like I would be cursed just for looking at it.
“Those feelings were the idea behind the development of this weapon……ironically, it was said that the leader of the enemy nation lived out his full life with no problems.”
